Even in the dark depths of the night, typography refuses to give me a moment’s peace. My partner, who always stays up later than I do, got fed up with me hogging the entire bed. ‘Make some room!’ he grumbled. ‘Back off,’ I shot back, ‘let me sleep italic!’
Typography: My Ikigai
After 30 years of studying and practicing typography (I started young, don’t be fooled), I’m struck by how much there still is to uncover and explore.
Maybe I’ll never fully understand why it holds such a grip on me, and that’s completely okay. In fact, it’s this mystery that fuels my journey forward.
